October is finally here which means Oktoberfest is almost over! It ends on Sunday the 6th but don’t worry if you can’t make it to Munich this year. Knoxville has the best place to celebrate Oktoberfest (in a CASTLE no less) and I’ve got pictures to prove it.Read more
I am thrilled to share that we celebrated not one but two special occasions last weekend in Nashville. I graduated with my Master’s Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Vanderbilt and on the same day Chris turned 30! After graduation we were looking for a place to escape the pouring rain and toast to the birthday boy so we headed to Peabody and 6th for a tour of Ole Smoky’s newest location- affectionately referred to as “Mashville”.Read more
The Bristol Hotel is Bristol’s first ever boutique hotel and its also home to Lumac, Bristol’s first ever rooftop bar. That’s more excitement than our little town has seen since the Battle at Bristol was hosted at Bristol Motor Speedway back in 2016. After weeks of traveling all over East Tennessee, I finally got the perfect opportunity to sip a glass of rosé on the rooftop while watching the sun set over the mountains.Read more
Nashville is one of my favorite places to visit but did you know there is a gorgeous vineyard waiting for you a few miles south of Music City?
Now that I’m living part-time in Gatlinburg, I get to see my friends who live in this area more often. That means more girls’ days and girls’ nights out and I welcome those opportunities to unwind in my current state of chaos. Recently I met Kass and Hannah for brunch at Brick & Spoon in Pigeon Forge and we had such a great time I thought I would share it with you.Read more
Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort provides an opportunity for park goers and visitors to “stay and play” in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Their in-house restaurant, Song & Hearth, serves up casual elegance that will make you feel right at home and the best part is that no one has to fight over who cleans the dishes. I was lucky enough to get a private viewing for You, Me, and Tennessee readers! Let me show you around Dolly’s place.Read more
If there’s one thing I know, it’s good donuts. I have favorite donut shops in multiple cities across the U.S. and zero shame. So you know that I have to share with you lovely folks when I find a winner and Five Daughters definitely stacks up.
Bring your daughters, your friends, and your acquaintances but also bring an insulin drip because this place is legit.Read more
We were fortunate enough to find ourselves in sunny Florida for Thanksgiving visiting family. As I’m writing this snow is falling on the ground outside in Tennessee which has me wishing I was back on the beach! While we were there we discovered yet another reason to be grateful that Tampa is just a short plane ride away. Columbia Restaurant is the oldest restaurant in the state of Florida and one of many reasons to add a detour through Ybor City to your next trip. If you happen to miss the incredible tile work on the outside of the building the sheer size of this place is remarkable taking up an entire city block. You can’t miss it!Read more
Our trip to New York City was in honor of my friend Hannah’s upcoming nuptials but she was kind enough to let us go inside Ladurée to sample their infamous macarons. They were every bit as delicious as I imagined they would be! I hope to one day visit their original store in Paris as well but now I can officially say I’ve had a Ladurée macaron. Let me show you around Ladurée on Madison!Read more
We had an incredible trip to Portland! I am thrilled to be able to share Voodoo Doughnut shop and much more with the You, Me, and Tennessee family. Voodoo Doughnut is a place I’ve seen on Food Network and read about on Pinterest. I’ve wanted to go for years and I am over the moon to say that we finally made it happen. I encourage each and every one of you to make your own list and start marking things off. You won’t regret it!
Before we get started, let me show you around the shop. Keep in mind that they only accept cash but there is an ATM inside the shop. Notice the “Coffin Full of Doughnuts” at the end. The coffin blended right in with the rest of the macabre decor. All part of the fun!Read more
