There are a few changes taking place during this season of my life so I thought I’d write a post for those who might be interested. I’m starting my nurse practitioner clinicals for Vanderbilt this week that will run through the end of July. As hard as I tried, I couldn’t secure clinicals near home but I’m grateful to be closer to my family (cough cough- my nephew) in Sevierville, TN. I’ll be sad to be away from my husband and JoeJoe but thankfully we’re no strangers to driving back and forth. We can do this! After I graduate in August I’ll be looking for a job so I ask that you would pray for God’s provision in that area. I’ll also be driving a lot between Nashville, Bristol, and Sevierville so please pray for safe travels. I hope everyone has a wonderful week! I’ll be settling in to my new clinic role and drinking lots of coffee.
I’m bringing something a little different to the blog today. While you can usually find me with a cold glass of sweet tea, I also enjoy a cup of hot tea with honey. Teabloom sent over some of their flowering green teas and I have to say I’ve never had tea like this. Inside the canister, there are 12 green tea flower pods shaped like hearts. When you pour boiling water over the top of the pod and let it steep for 5-10 minutes, the pod opens up and blooms. It’s a truly beautiful site! Continue reading “TEABLOOM FLOWERING TEAS”
Hello, lovely people! Today I wanted to share a super easy summer treat that you can make for your dog using only 3 ingredients- pumpkin, yogurt, and honey. As some people may know, pumpkin helps to correct constipation and diarrhea in dogs which can come in handy when the summer heat starts messing with their bellies. This simple recipe for frozen pumpkin pup-sicles is sure to please your favorite four-legged friend.
Thank you to everyone who wished me “Happy Birthday” on Sunday! I was incredibly fortunate to be in New York City on my birthday for my best friend’s bachelorette weekend. I can’t wait to share all the photos with my You, Me, and Tennessee family. You guys are the best! First, I wanted to take the time to reiterate how grateful I am to y’all. I’ve never felt closer to living out my dreams and it’s because of your support. Continue reading “HEY THERE, 27.”

Y’all know I love to travel. I started You, Me, and Tennessee because of my passion for travel and it has been incredibly fun to share my adventures (big and small) with all of you. Here’s the thing… the “hitch in my giddy-up” if you will… I work a full time job as a nurse. I don’t have unlimited funds or unlimited vacation days. I saw something on Facebook yesterday that made me laugh out loud. It said, “How are you guys going on trips so often? How is your time off being approved? Who is paying your bills?” I’ve had the same thought a hundred times! Since I started writing on the blog I’ve felt pressure to post about “all the fun I’m having”. I’ve felt like if I’m not posting from the Seven Wonders of the World every week then I’m somehow a fraud as travel blogger and that’s simply not true. So this week I wanted to share with you the 5 things you can do when you can’t travel as much as you’d like. You’re not a failure because your Instagram feed isn’t flashy and color coordinated. Remember that through those avenues people can pick and choose the parts of life they want you to see. Here are 5 things you can do to live your best life when larger trips seem out of the question. Continue reading “5 THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU CAN’T TRAVEL”
I’m excited for the days to get longer and the temps to warm up! One of my favorite things about Spring (aside from my birthday) is that tons of flowers will be in bloom. Since I’m going a little stir crazy, I made a list of 5 places I’m going to visit this Spring. Continue reading “TRAVEL PLANS: 5 PLACES WE WILL VISIT THIS SPRING”
I want to thank Helen from Smart Diet blog for nominating me for The Sunshine Blogger Award. Just when you think no one reads your posts… what a surprise! Thank you, Helen! You definitely gave me my own sunshine yesterday. Continue reading “I WAS NOMINATED FOR THE SUNSHINE BLOGGER AWARD”

Making resolutions is easy to do in the moment. The hard part is sticking with them long term. I think introspection is something to be applauded. I think examining what you want out of life is always a good idea. I also think that if we’re being honest with ourselves, most of us just want to be happy. Dumbledore said, “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” Two things come to mind when I read this quote. It’s one of my favorites so I reflect on it fairly often. Happiness can be found but you have to know what your version of happiness entails. Maybe being healthier would make you happy or maybe it’s getting more organized. You know yourself best. Secondly, turning on the light is much harder for some than others. I wish you only best with the part about light. I have good days and bad days myself. I can, however, give you some tips to help you hit those resolutions hard and get you one step closer to your happy place. Continue reading “TIPS FOR KEEPING YOUR NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS”
