HEY THERE, 27.

HEY THERE, 27.

Thank you to everyone who wished me “Happy Birthday” on Sunday! I was incredibly fortunate to be in New York City on my birthday for my best friend’s bachelorette weekend. I can’t wait to share all the photos with my You, Me, and Tennessee family. You guys are the best! First, I wanted to take the time to reiterate how grateful I am to y’all. I’ve never felt closer to living out my dreams and it’s because of your support. Continue reading “HEY THERE, 27.”

5 THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU CAN’T TRAVEL

5 THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU CAN’T TRAVEL

Y’all know I love to travel. I started You, Me, and Tennessee because of my passion for travel and it has been incredibly fun to share my adventures (big and small) with all of you. Here’s the thing… the “hitch in my giddy-up” if you will… I work a full time job as a nurse. I don’t have unlimited funds or unlimited vacation days. I saw something on Facebook yesterday that made me laugh out loud. It said, “How are you guys going on trips so often? How is your time off being approved? Who is paying your bills?” I’ve had the same thought a hundred times! Since I started writing on the blog I’ve felt pressure to post about “all the fun I’m having”. I’ve felt like if I’m not posting from the Seven Wonders of the World every week then I’m somehow a fraud as travel blogger and that’s simply not true. So this week I wanted to share with you the 5 things you can do when you can’t travel as much as you’d like. You’re not a failure because your Instagram feed isn’t flashy and color coordinated. Remember that through those avenues people can pick and choose the parts of life they want you to see. Here are 5 things you can do to live your best life when larger trips seem out of the question. FRIDAY 5 THINGS: 5 PLACES WE WILL VISIT THIS SPRING

FRIDAY 5 THINGS: 5 PLACES WE WILL VISIT THIS SPRING

I’m excited for the days to get longer and the temps to warm up! One of my favorite things about Spring (aside from my birthday) is that tons of flowers will be in bloom. Since I’m going a little stir crazy, I made a list of 5 places I’m going to visit this Spring. Continue reading “FRIDAY 5 THINGS: 5 PLACES WE WILL VISIT THIS SPRING”

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY: 6 BOOKS ABOUT LOVE

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY: 6 BOOKS ABOUT LOVE

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! I hope you get spoiled today and if not then you should totally treat yourself. One of my favorite ways to treat myself is with a glass of wine and a good book. If you’re interested in the books I’ve read, ones I’m currently reading, or what’s in the queue you can go to my Goodreads account here. I compiled a list of some of my favorite books about love in the spirit of the season.  Continue reading “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY: 6 BOOKS ABOUT LOVE”

FRIDAY 5 THINGS: WHEN SOMEONE DOESN’T LIKE YOU

FRIDAY 5 THINGS: WHEN SOMEONE DOESN’T LIKE YOU

Today I was inspired to share a little something different on the blog so please humor me. The featured photo is from the movie “Legally Blonde” after Elle gets dumped by her boyfriend Warner. Typing this all I could think about was Elle saying, “So you’re breaking up with me because you’re afraid your family won’t like me? Everybody likes me.” I’ve admitted on here before that I get anxiety quite often and one of the worst times is when someone doesn’t like me. One piece of advice I continually get is “to Hell with those people” but I don’t think that mindset is always healthy. Doing the hard work of introspection can lead to not only personal growth but stronger relationships. These are the 5 questions I ask myself when that happens because- full disclosure- it really hurts. I hope this helps other people who could be struggling with the same thing.  Continue reading “FRIDAY 5 THINGS: WHEN SOMEONE DOESN’T LIKE YOU”

SUPER BOWL RECIPE RECAP

SUPER BOWL RECIPE RECAP

I hope everyone had a great Super Bowl Sunday. Altogether I had a pretty phenomenal day. I spent most of it in the kitchen cooking and didn’t hurt a single person including myself. I ate my body weight in tortilla chips. I got what I wanted out of the Super Bowl (i.e. commercials and half-time shows). I laughed way too hard at the commercial with Eli Manning and Odell Beckham, Jr. I sang “Cry Me a River” secretly hoping that the rest of N*SYNC would make a surprise cameo. Best of all, I got to make great memories with some of my favorite people.  Continue reading “SUPER BOWL RECIPE RECAP”

FRIDAY 5 THINGS

FRIDAY 5 THINGS

Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I last posted and I want to apologize for being MIA this week. I’ve been fighting a migraine and low estrogen levels so looking at a screen without the help of Zofran has been difficult to say the least. I took the opportunity to focus on my health and to brainstorm new ideas for posts. Man, it feels good to be back! Continue reading “FRIDAY 5 THINGS”
