We ushered in the roaring 20’s this week with friends in Asheville, North Carolina. It’s a short hour and a half drive from Bristol and offers some of the best food and drinks around. Continue reading “ASHEVILLE NYE GUIDE”
Naples, Italy has mixed reviews online and even among friends and family. While planning our trip we decided to stop in Naples for the sake of train travel on our way to Venice. I also knew that Naples was known for its pizza and is the proud home of the greatest pizzerias in the world. Now that we’ve been, let me tell you how it stacks up to other cities and give our final answer on whether or not you should book part of your trip in Naples. Continue reading “NAPLES: YES OR NO?”
The newest restaurant in Bristol caught my eye while walking down State Street during Rhythm and Roots last weekend. Delta Blues is a BBQ restaurant that feels a little like Memphis and Nashville right here in Bristol. My husband is known as the brisket king in our family so I knew it wouldn’t be long before we ended up at Delta Blues for dinner. Let me show you around. Continue reading “DELTA BLUES BBQ”
Bristol’s Rhythm & Roots Reunion is a music and art festival held every 3rd weekend in September on the state line between Tennessee and Virginia. Since we’ve lived in Bristol for the last 7 years we’ve been quite a few times and seen incredible headliners and talented artists from all over the world. One year my sister set up an art tent to sell her pottery which gave me a unique opportunity to see the festival from the other side. This year was much more relaxed because we decided to go for one day instead of all 3. Continue reading “RHYTHM & ROOTS 2019”
Girls night out has been scheduled at Graze for months now and after 2 failed attempts the third time was the charm! I’m excited to see how downtown Sevierville looks in the near future. How great would it be to have more restaurants and maybe even (Heaven help us) a brewery? Continue reading “GRAZE BURGERS”
The latest restaurant in town that you have to try is MonsterMash Burgers. This themed eatery has everything from monstrously large meals to lemonade served in blood bags. Burgers, mac n cheese, and hot dogs are all customizable as well as gigantic shakes. You can indulge in bubbling cheese from a cauldron while listening to The Eagles sing “Witchy Woman”. Continue reading “WE DID THE MASH”
If there’s one thing I could eat 7 days a week it’s Mexican food. Anything served with chips and salsa is an automatic “yes” for me. My husband and I even went to Mexico on our honeymoon where we got to enjoy all the guacamole, quesadillas, and margaritas that our hearts could desire. I heard a new restaurant was opening in Johnson City that served our favorite food and wanted to share it with you! Continue reading “GO BURRITO!”
Last Friday we went to Wild Vine at Zoo Knoxville to raise money for animal conservation. Drinking wine for charity? Wild animals couldn’t stop me! To be honest, they were the main event. Continue reading “WILD VINE AT ZOO KNOXVILLE”
If there’s one thing I know, it’s good donuts. I have favorite donut shops in multiple cities across the U.S. and zero shame. So you know that I have to share with you loverly folks when I find a winner and Five Daughters definitely stacks up.
Bring your daughters, your friends, and your acquaintances but also bring an insulin drip because this place is legit.
Hello 2019! I can’t believe I’m writing my first post of the new year. The holidays seemed to jet passed me in a blur. I think this year I’ll put up my Christmas decorations BEFORE Thanksgiving like a heathen and everyone else can just deal. Last week, Chris and I went to Ohio to see family and we spent one of our days in Cleveland. This city has A LOT to offer. Here’s what we did during our short visit… Continue reading “TOUR A CHRISTMAS STORY HOUSE IN CLEVELAND, OHIO”
