If there’s one thing I know, it’s good donuts. I have favorite donut shops in multiple cities across the U.S. and zero shame. So you know that I have to share with you loverly folks when I find a winner and Five Daughters definitely stacks up.
Bring your daughters, your friends, and your acquaintances but also bring an insulin drip because this place is legit.

Hello 2019! I can’t believe I’m writing my first post of the new year. The holidays seemed to jet passed me in a blur. I think this year I’ll put up my Christmas decorations BEFORE Thanksgiving like a heathen and everyone else can just deal. Last week, Chris and I went to Ohio to see family and we spent one of our days in Cleveland. This city has A LOT to offer. Here’s what we did during our short visit… Continue reading “WELCOME TO CLEVELAND”
Our trip to New York City was in honor of my friend Hannah’s upcoming nuptials but she was kind enough to let us go inside Ladurée to sample their infamous macarons. They were every bit as delicious as I imagined they would be! I hope to one day visit their original store in Paris as well but now I can officially say I’ve had a Ladurée macaron. Let me show you around Ladurée on Madison! Continue reading “LADURÉE + A GIVEAWAY! (NOW CLOSED)”
If you can believe it, this is my 100th blog post! I wanted to use this momentous occasion to showcase more of Portland. I can’t recommend this part of the country enough for your next vacation. There were still lots of things we wanted to see (and eat) so we’ll definitely be back. Here are my 5 must-do’s to keep in mind when you’re planning your trip. Let me know if you’ve been! Continue reading “5 THINGS YOU HAVE TO DO WHEN YOU’RE IN PORTLAND”
Since moving to the Bristol area a few years ago, I’ve compiled a list of the best places to get a bite to eat and I wanted to share them with the You, Me, and Tennessee family.

My mother-in-law gets asked to make her sugar cookies for every family function of the year. I’m not much of a cookie fan so I didn’t understand what all the fuss was about. I think I first had them on the Fourth of July. She shaped them into American flags and I got my paws on one before she made it red, white, and blue. One bite. That was it. I was done for. I’ve never had a better sugar cookie in my life and neither will you. Trust me, this is the only sugar cookie recipe you will ever need. Continue reading “THE ONLY SUGAR COOKIE RECIPE YOU WILL EVER NEED”
Halloween is officially one week away and I’ve been getting in the spirit since we’ll be missing it this year. These little guys are so easy to make it’s ridiculous. All you need is white chocolate, Oreos, and eyeball sprinkles. Mummies seem to be my theme for Halloween this year so I’m just going with it. You can see my other mummy post here. Continue reading “MUMMY OREOS”
I’m not normally one to enjoy spicy foods but you can’t visit Nashville and not have hot chicken. I wanted to go to Hattie B’s because Prince’s is rumored to be even hotter and Pepperfire is as well! So I went on a Nashville native’s recommendation to start with Hattie B’s and branch out from there. Well… after one bite my mouth was on fire but man was it good! Continue reading “HATTIE B’S HOT CHICKEN & BOBBIE’S DAIRY DIP”
Bristol’s Rhythm and Roots Reunion is a music and arts festival held on State Street in Bristol. The fun fact about State Street is that one side of the street is Virginia and the other side is Tennessee so you can straddle the double yellow lines and be in two places at once. We enjoy Rhythm and Roots for the food trucks, live bands, and art that you may not find anywhere else. Continue reading “RHYTHM AND ROOTS REUNION”
The Pottery House Cafe is owned by the same group of people who have The Old Mill Restaurant right across the street. The restaurant serves sinfully indulgent comfort food family style so if you decide to eat there bring your appetite. I have enjoyed eating at both institutions but my preference leans toward The Pottery House Cafe because it provides a more intimate environment. Continue reading “THE POTTERY HOUSE CAFE”
