I don’t get out of bed early for just any occasion but I happily made an exception for hot air balloons. They make me feel like I’m in a story book or a fairy tale with their rainbow colors and promise of carrying me away. Continue reading “BREAKFAST WITH THE BALLOONS”
Now that I’m living part-time in Gatlinburg, I get to see my friends who live in this area more often. That means more girls’ days and girls’ nights out and I welcome those opportunities to unwind in my current state of chaos. Recently I met Kass and Hannah for brunch at Brick & Spoon in Pigeon Forge and we had such a great time I thought I would share it with you. Continue reading “BEST NEW BRUNCH SPOT IN PIGEON FORGE”
If there’s one thing I know, it’s good donuts. I have favorite donut shops in multiple cities across the U.S. and zero shame. So you know that I have to share with you loverly folks when I find a winner and Five Daughters definitely stacks up.
Bring your daughters, your friends, and your acquaintances but also bring an insulin drip because this place is legit.
I’ve already mentioned that I was fortunate enough to be in NYC for my 27th birthday because of my best friend’s bachelorette weekend. This was our last day in the city and my sweet friends wanted to have a birthday brunch together before we reluctantly went back to Tennessee. Continue reading “BIRTHDAY BRUNCH IN NYC”
Bloom is a new coffee shop and cafe in downtown Bristol that has been on my radar since Rhythm and Roots back in September. I popped in to this State Street newbie for a coffee a few weeks back but last night I was able to stay for trivia. The theme was “Stranger Things” and it was a huge success. Many patrons, much like the owner pictured below, dressed as his/her favorite character. The list of team names included “Barb’s Search Party” and “The AV Club”. The dinner special was called “The Upside Down” which consisted of bacon, gouda cheese, turkey, apples, and apple butter sandwiched between two Eggo waffles and served with a side of maple syrup. It was strange, of course, but also delicious. Eleven would definitely approve! I snapped a few pictures so you could have a look around the shop. Not shown are the gorgeous herringbone hardwood floors and the stained glass trim around the door frame. I’ll have to go back when the natural light is beaming through the windows. Double D’s Coffee and Desserts is housed inside a double-decker bus that originally roamed the bustling streets of London. Since taking on a new life as a coffee shop this bright red bus keeps Asheville wanting more. Everyone can use a cup of tea or coffee throughout the day so why not get it with a little whimsy? Continue reading “DOUBLE D’S COFFEE & DESSERTS”
Asheville has manifested itself in my mind as this southern mama who feels like she has to feed me every time I visit and this time mama made donuts. Donuts have been my favorite sinful indulgence for at least 5 years now. I have become somewhat of a connoisseur and I pride myself on knowing where the “good” donuts can be found. Asheville folks, you are ridiculously lucky to have Hole Donuts! Continue reading “HOLE DONUTS”
