WELCOME TO MASHVILLE

WELCOME TO MASHVILLE

I am thrilled to share that we celebrated not one but two special occasions last weekend in Nashville. I graduated with my Master’s Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Vanderbilt and on the same day Chris turned 30! After graduation we were looking for a place to escape the pouring rain and toast to the birthday boy so we headed to Peabody and 6th for a tour of Ole Smoky’s newest location- affectionately referred to as “Mashville”. A LOOK INSIDE DOLLY PARTON’S SONG & HEARTH RESTAURANT

A LOOK INSIDE DOLLY PARTON’S SONG & HEARTH RESTAURANT

Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort provides an opportunity for park goers and visitors to “stay and play” in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Their in-house restaurant, Song & Hearth, serves up casual elegance that will make you feel right at home and the best part is that no one has to fight over who cleans the dishes. I was lucky enough to get a private viewing for You, Me, and Tennessee readers! Let me show you around Dolly’s place. Continue reading “A LOOK INSIDE DOLLY PARTON’S SONG & HEARTH RESTAURANT”

THE BLIND TIGER

THE BLIND TIGER

After we finished our incredible meal at Columbia Restaurant, I was in desperate need of a pick-me-up. We went in search of caffeine and luckily The Blind Tiger was a short walk from the restaurant. They had almond milk (saints be praised) so I ordered a vanilla latte and sat by the window to people watch. Continue reading “THE BLIND TIGER”

MEET MY NEPHEW ARLOW

MEET MY NEPHEW ARLOW

I officially became “Aunt Carly” on Wednesday and I couldn’t be happier! I won’t share too many details because it’s my sister’s birth story and not my own. I will say that he’s cuddly and likes to be held. Music to my ears! I hope y’all enjoy these snapshots I took at the hospital. I’m thrilled that my sister allowed me to be there for the birth of her son and to share these moments with you. Continue reading “MEET MY NEPHEW ARLOW”

LITTLE ZIGZAG FALLS HIKE

LITTLE ZIGZAG FALLS HIKE

While Chris and his cousin Ryan went skiing, Colette took the boys and I to Little Zigzag Falls. The falls are just a short walk away from the parking lot which is great for kids. The trail was still covered in snow so the walk was exceptionally beautiful that day. Continue reading “LITTLE ZIGZAG FALLS HIKE”

WEST SIDE MARKET IN CLEVELAND

WEST SIDE MARKET IN CLEVELAND

Chris and I visited Cleveland, Ohio during Easter weekend and a trip to West Side Market is a must when you’re in the neighborhood. I first visited the market back in April and mentioned it in a blog post here. I was thrilled to be back and once again utterly jealous of the people who live within walking distance of all this delicious food. Our goal was to find the perfect dessert to share on Easter Sunday. Bunny macarons took home the blue ribbon! Aside from decadent treats, West Side Market also offers a staggering variety of meats, cheeses, fresh baked breads, and produce. Let me show you around! 5 WAYS TO SAVE MONEY FOR TRAVEL

5 WAYS TO SAVE MONEY FOR TRAVEL

Y’all know I love to travel. I started You, Me, and Tennessee because of my passion for travel and it has been incredibly fun to share my adventures (big and small) with all of you. Here’s the thing… the “hitch in my giddy-up” if you will… I work a full time job as a nurse. I don’t have unlimited funds or unlimited vacation days. I saw something on Facebook yesterday that made me laugh out loud. It said, “How are you guys going on trips so often? How is your time off being approved? Who is paying your bills?” I’ve had the same thought a hundred times! Since I started writing on the blog I’ve felt pressure to post about “all the fun I’m having”. I’ve felt like if I’m not posting from the Seven Wonders of the World every week then I’m somehow a fraud as travel blogger and that’s simply not true. So this week I wanted to share with you the 5 things you can do when you can’t travel as much as you’d like. You’re not a failure because your Instagram feed isn’t flashy and color coordinated. Remember that through those avenues people can pick and choose the parts of life they want you to see. Here are 5 things you can do to live your best life when larger trips seem out of the question. 5 OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN PIGEON FORGE

This week’s “Friday 5” are 5 of the best restaurants in Pigeon Forge. When you drive down the Parkway there are restaurants everywhere and it can be overwhelming. You can find yourself going to the same places over and over again instead of eating somewhere new. Hopefully this will help the next time you’re having trouble deciding what’s for dinner. I included places that were unique to Pigeon Forge and not big chains. Let me know your favorite in the comments!  Continue reading “5 OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN PIGEON FORGE”
