BRICK & SPOON

BRICK & SPOON

Now that I’m living part-time in Gatlinburg, I get to see my friends who live in this area more often. That means more girls’ days and girls’ nights out and I welcome those opportunities to unwind in my current state of chaos. Recently I met Kass and Hannah for brunch at Brick & Spoon in Pigeon Forge and we had such a great time I thought I would share it with you. Continue reading “BRICK & SPOON”

BLOOM CAFE AND LISTENING ROOM

BLOOM CAFE AND LISTENING ROOM

Bloom is a new coffee shop and cafe in downtown Bristol that has been on my radar since Rhythm and Roots back in September. I popped in to this State Street newbie for a coffee a few weeks back but last night I was able to stay for trivia. The theme was “Stranger Things” and it was a huge success. Many patrons, much like the owner pictured below, dressed as his/her favorite character. The list of team names included “Barb’s Search Party” and “The AV Club”. The dinner special was called “The Upside Down” which consisted of bacon, gouda cheese, turkey, apples, and apple butter sandwiched between two Eggo waffles and served with a side of maple syrup. It was strange, of course, but also delicious. Eleven would definitely approve! I snapped a few pictures so you could have a look around the shop. Not shown are the gorgeous herringbone hardwood floors and the stained glass trim around the door frame. I’ll have to go back when the natural light is beaming through the windows. HOLE DONUTS

HOLE DONUTS

Asheville has manifested itself in my mind as this southern mama who feels like she has to feed me every time I visit and this time mama made donuts. Donuts have been my favorite sinful indulgence for at least 5 years now. I have become somewhat of a connoisseur and I pride myself on knowing where the “good” donuts can be found. Asheville folks, you are ridiculously lucky to have Hole Donuts!  Continue reading “HOLE DONUTS”

BRUNCH AT ACME FEED & SEED

BRUNCH AT ACME FEED & SEED

The morning of Red Bull Flugtag we decided to make a pit stop outside the entry gates to eat brunch at Acme Feed & Seed. Apparently, everyone had the same idea but I was shocked at how fast the line moved. We also got our food and drinks with exceptional speed given how many people were there. We were very impressed with how fast lines went the whole time we were in Nashville. Confession time: I’m an old lady on the inside who loves people watching, early meal times, and good food. Acme did not disappoint. Continue reading “BRUNCH AT ACME FEED & SEED”
