The newest restaurant in Bristol caught my eye while walking down State Street during Rhythm and Roots last weekend. Delta Blues is a BBQ restaurant that feels a little like Memphis and Nashville right here in Bristol. Bristol’s Rhythm & Roots Reunion is a music and art festival held every 3rd weekend in September on the state line between Tennessee and Virginia. Since we’ve lived in Bristol for the last 7 years we’ve been quite a few times and seen incredible headliners and talented artists from all over the world. One year my sister set up an art tent to sell her pottery which gave me a unique opportunity to see the festival from the other side. The Bristol Hotel is Bristol’s first ever boutique hotel and its also home to Lumac, Bristol’s first ever rooftop bar. That’s more excitement than our little town has seen since the Battle at Bristol was hosted at Bristol Motor Speedway back in 2016. After weeks of traveling all over East Tennessee, I finally got the perfect opportunity to sip a glass of rosé on the rooftop while watching the sun set over the mountains.
