I would like to start off by saying that while tropical locations are popular for girls’ trips, NYC is certainly a competitive choice as well. We had an absolute blast for my friend’s bachelorette weekend and now I’m dying to go back. We went for 3 days and managed to fit in a trip to The Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and a Broadway show. Whew! Needless to say I spent this week catching up on sleep but I’d do it all over again. I got a lot of messages about what we did and if I had any tips for those who are planning their own trips to the Big Apple. Continue reading “5 TIPS FOR VISITING NEW YORK CITY”
Since moving to the Bristol area a few years ago, I’ve compiled a list of the best places to get a bite to eat and I wanted to share them with the You, Me, and Tennessee family.
Y’all know I love to travel. I started You, Me, and Tennessee because of my passion for travel and it has been incredibly fun to share my adventures (big and small) with all of you. Here’s the thing… the “hitch in my giddy-up” if you will… I work a full time job as a nurse. I don’t have unlimited funds or unlimited vacation days. I saw something on Facebook yesterday that made me laugh out loud. It said, “How are you guys going on trips so often? How is your time off being approved? Who is paying your bills?” I’ve had the same thought a hundred times! Since I started writing on the blog I’ve felt pressure to post about “all the fun I’m having”. I’ve felt like if I’m not posting from the Seven Wonders of the World every week then I’m somehow a fraud as travel blogger and that’s simply not true. So this week I wanted to share with you the 5 things you can do when you can’t travel as much as you’d like. You’re not a failure because your Instagram feed isn’t flashy and color coordinated. Remember that through those avenues people can pick and choose the parts of life they want you to see. Here are 5 things you can do to live your best life when larger trips seem out of the question. One of the best things about living in East Tennessee is having access to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. In a short drive you can be in the middle of the most visited national park in the country. Continue reading “5 HIKES IN THE SMOKIES TO EXPLORE”
This week’s “Friday 5” are 5 of the best restaurants in Pigeon Forge. When you drive down the Parkway there are restaurants everywhere and it can be overwhelming. You can find yourself going to the same places over and over again instead of eating somewhere new. Hopefully this will help the next time you’re having trouble deciding what’s for dinner. I included places that were unique to Pigeon Forge and not big chains. Let me know your favorite in the comments! Continue reading “5 OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN PIGEON FORGE”
Hey y’all, I hope you like the featured photo for today’s post. The wedding photos are trickling in and I can’t wait to share them with friends, family, and of course the lovely readers of You, Me, and Tennessee. This post is wedding themed so it’s more of a “Bride Day Friday” and “Friday 5 Things” hybrid. Continue reading “FRIDAY 5: WEDDING EDITION”
