There are a few changes taking place during this season of my life so I thought I’d write a post for those who might be interested. I’m starting my nurse practitioner clinicals for Vanderbilt this week that will run through the end of July. As hard as I tried, I couldn’t secure clinicals near home but I’m grateful to be closer to my family (cough cough- my nephew) in Sevierville, TN. I’ll be sad to be away from my husband and JoeJoe but thankfully we’re no strangers to driving back and forth. We can do this! After I graduate in August I’ll be looking for a job so I ask that you would pray for God’s provision in that area. I’ll also be driving a lot between Nashville, Bristol, and Sevierville so please pray for safe travels. I hope everyone has a wonderful week! I’ll be settling in to my new clinic role and drinking lots of coffee.
I officially became “Aunt Carly” on Wednesday and I couldn’t be happier! I won’t share too many details because it’s my sister’s birth story and not my own. I will say that he’s cuddly and likes to be held. Music to my ears! I hope y’all enjoy these snapshots I took at the hospital. I’m thrilled that my sister allowed me to be there for the birth of her son and to share these moments with you. Continue reading “MEET MY NEPHEW ARLOW”
First I would like to apologize for being away so long. For those who don’t know, I started my master’s at Vanderbilt 2 months ago. The program is accelerated and I’ve barely had time to catch my breath with all the work so I’ll try and post as often as I can but the timing will be sporadic to say the least. These photos, however, are an exception. I would be devastated if they ended up in purgatory and didn’t make it to the blog before my nephew is born. We slipped away to Greenbrier yesterday to snap these and I’m thrilled at how well they turned out. Please enjoy my stunning sister who (much to my dismay) is still perfectly thin and looks like she swallowed a beach ball. Arlow, my love, I can’t wait to meet you. I’m bringing something a little different to the blog today. While you can usually find me with a cold glass of sweet tea, I also enjoy a cup of hot tea with honey. Teabloom sent over some of their flowering green teas and I have to say I’ve never had tea like this. Inside the canister, there are 12 green tea flower pods shaped like hearts. When you pour boiling water over the top of the pod and let it steep for 5-10 minutes, the pod opens up and blooms. It’s a truly beautiful site! Continue reading “TEABLOOM FLOWERING TEAS”

I’m excited for the days to get longer and the temps to warm up! One of my favorite things about Spring (aside from my birthday) is that tons of flowers will be in bloom. Since I’m going a little stir crazy, I made a list of 5 places I’m going to visit this Spring. Continue reading “TRAVEL PLANS: 5 PLACES WE WILL VISIT THIS SPRING”
My mother-in-law gets asked to make her sugar cookies for every family function of the year. I’m not much of a cookie fan so I didn’t understand what all the fuss was about. I think I first had them on the Fourth of July. She shaped them into American flags and I got my paws on one before she made it red, white, and blue. One bite. That was it. I was done for. I’ve never had a better sugar cookie in my life and neither will you. Trust me, this is the only sugar cookie recipe you will ever need. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t apprehensive to post pictures of myself in a bathing suit. My husband took these on our honeymoon and I’m proud of the way I look in them. The word you’re looking for is “happy”! Today’s blog post is all about how I put my blood, sweat, and tears into losing weight. Continue reading “12 TIPS FOR WEIGHT LOSS”
