Five Best Places to Eat in Bristol, TN

Since moving to the Bristol area a few years ago, I’ve compiled a list of the best places to get a bite to eat and I wanted to share them with the You, Me, and Tennessee family.

// EATZ //

Eatz on Moore Street is as close as you can get to a home cooked meal in Bristol. Your plate will be piled high with family recipes like fried catfish, jerk chicken, and barbecue. Get the collard greens and corn bread. This small restaurant is family owned and operated. As kind and welcoming as they are their food is even better. Go to Eatz! You’ll thank me later.

// COOTIE BROWN’S //

I know the original Cootie Brown’s is in Johnson City but I’m glad they built a second location in Bristol. Whenever Christopher’s family comes to town they love going to Cootie’s for the house made chips and ranch dressing. No matter what you order make sure to try their ranch before you leave. As a true southerner, ranch dressing is my life blood and this is one of the best. We also go there about once every couple weeks for the lactose free pizza on their menu. If y’all know me, you know how much I love pizza and Cootie’s makes it almost as well as my sweet husband.

// BRISTOL CAFE AND MARKET //

Bristol Café and Market has quickly become our new Friday lunch date. Delicious sandwiches, salads, soups, and sides (say that 5 times fast) await you at Bristol Café and Market. The sweetest newlyweds named Andrew and Megan run the restaurant. They’re the types of people who remember your order or your voice when you call. You have to give them a try! I have a suggestion though… Order the mac’n’cheese. It tastes like Jesus touched it.

// BURGER BAR //

Burger Bar is a Bristol staple that’s been around since 1942. Bring your appetite! They’ve got burgers as big as your head and milkshakes to go with them. You’ll also be surprised by the number of choices on their menu. Next time I go I think I might split something with Chris. Prepare to make a mess eating this burger and regret nothing in the process.

// 620 STATE //

620 State is the address of this restaurant on State Street. I tell you that because my father couldn’t find it one night and nearly had a fit. I was rolling laughing while he was spitting nails. The restaurant’s sign is hard to see at night in my father’s defense. If you’re driving down State Street the entrance to the restaurant is the set of doors underneath the brightly lit marquee of the Foundation Event Facility. The food is incredible as well as the cocktails. They have a large selection of sushi and stir fry as well as traditional fare. This is certainly the most upscale of my selections but well worth a visit. I would suggest 620 State to anyone visiting the area.

If you still have room for dessert afterwards, the best place to get something sweet is at Blackbird Bakery. If there’s a line, wait in it. You’ll be glad you did. My favorite is the Chocolate Dream Cake but you really can’t go wrong there.

What do you think? Did I miss anything? The weekend is coming up so that means you could try somewhere new for date night. Let me know your favorite eatery in Bristol in the comments section below. As always, you can pin this post on Pinterest for later!

Until next time,

Carly
