On our last full day in Rome, our travel agent scheduled a tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Thankfully, the Pantheon was a convenient stop en route to our Colosseum tour meet up location. We arrived to that part of town early enough that we were able to walk right inside the Pantheon and look around. Here are a collection of photos from our day spent immersed in Ancient Rome! On our first morning in Rome we woke up extra early to get to the Trevi Fountain before sunrise. I picked out a dress just for the occasion. I wanted to look perfect. I thought about what I would wish for and hoped to get a picture of the two of us that would last a lifetime. Our cab driver dropped us off as close as he could get to the fountain and gave us walking directions. When Chris told me it was right around the corner I took off in a sprint. Our travel agent booked this day trip for us so we had private transportation from Naples to Mt. Vesuvius and Pompeii. I would suggest going this route because you don’t have to navigate the subway system. Plus, you get dropped off higher up the mountain so the hike is shorter. Considering the first part of the hike up Mt. Vesuvius is straight up I was happy to be given a head start. Continue reading “MT. VESUVIUS & POMPEII RUINS”
Naples, Italy has mixed reviews online and even among friends and family. While planning our trip we decided to stop in Naples for the sake of train travel on our way to Venice. I also knew that Naples was known for its pizza and is the proud home of the greatest pizzerias in the world. Now that we’ve been, let me tell you how it stacks up to other cities and give our final answer on whether or not you should book part of your trip in Naples. Continue reading “NAPLES: YES OR NO?”
Venice gets the award for being unlike any city I’ve ever visited. The city is made up of smaller islands attached by bridges. Public transportation is a fleet of boats not buses. There are no cars or bikes to be found due to the narrow walkways. Getting lost isn’t just a possibility here, it’s guaranteed. Let me tell you all about 5 things you should do if you find yourself in stunning Venezia. Continue reading “5 THINGS TO DO IN VENICE, ITALY”
I’m sharing our travel itinerary for Italy including lots of photos! I’m breaking down 10 days in 6 cities and giving you the highlights to expand into individual posts later. I got fancy with the graphic design so let me know if you like this format for future posts.
We fit SO MUCH into 10 short days that included travel from city to city. Do you have any questions about the trip you’d like me to answer in future posts? I’ll have at least one post per city but some will have more (i.e. Rome). I thought I’d also make a post of all the things I wish I knew before our trip. Let me know what would be interesting to you in the comments! Thanks for reading.
