Books
All of the items are divided up into categories and labeled making them relatively easy to find. There are children’s books, self-help, cookbooks, comic books, graphic novels, new releases, classics- you name it. They’ve got an excellent selection at unbeatable prices. I’m a fan of “old book smell” so I’ve been known to roam the stacks with my coffee purely for the ambiance.
DVD’s
McKay’s has so many DVD’s that there are piles of them in waist level bins for you to sort through to your heart’s content. Before dumpster diving for discount DVD’s be sure to check the shelves first. There are multiple copies of popular films, TV shows, and documentaries. In my experience the children’s selection of DVD’s is better in Nashville but I may have simply stopped in on a good day.
Music
Forget the days of downloading music. The upper floor of McKay’s is fully stocked with CD’s and records of all genres. You’re sure to find your favorite.
Toys, Games, & More
McKay’s has loads of vintage toys and action figures in mint condition as well as board games. You can also buy gaming consoles including Super Nintendo, Xbox, and PlayStation plus the games to go with them.
McKay’s is a thrifty nerd’s paradise and I stop in as often as I can for gifts or to treat myself.
