Hello, lovely people! Today I wanted to share a super easy summer treat that you can make for your dog using only 3 ingredients- pumpkin, yogurt, and honey. As some people may know, pumpkin helps to correct constipation and diarrhea in dogs which can come in handy when the summer heat starts messing with their bellies. This simple recipe for frozen pumpkin pup-sicles is sure to please your favorite four-legged friend.
Joe’s number one favorite food is pumpkin. Okay, it’s tortilla chips but can you blame me for wanting to look like a good mom? Pumpkin is a close second though so when I was searching for pumpkin treats to make for him, I stumbled on these recipes and modified one to match what I already had at home. Here’s what you’ll need.
Ingredient List:
1 can pumpkin purée (15 oz can)
Note: Make sure the can says Pumpkin Purée and NOT Pumpkin Pie Filling.
1 ½ cups plain yogurt
1 drizzle of honey
I mixed all the ingredients together and spooned my canine concoction into these molds that I got on Amazon for less than $10. You really can’t beat that! I let them freeze overnight and they pop right out of the silicone when it’s time for a pup-sicle.
Next time I might add some peanut butter powder to the mix. Can you think of anything else that would work well with the pumpkin? I’m asking for a furry little friend (wink wink).
