Making resolutions is easy to do in the moment. The hard part is sticking with them long term. I think introspection is something to be applauded. I think examining what you want out of life is always a good idea. I also think that if we’re being honest with ourselves, most of us just want to be happy. Dumbledore said, “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” Two things come to mind when I read this quote. It’s one of my favorites so I reflect on it fairly often. Happiness can be found but you have to know what your version of happiness entails. Maybe being healthier would make you happy or maybe it’s getting more organized. You know yourself best. Secondly, turning on the light is much harder for some than others. I wish you only best with the part about light. I have good days and bad days myself. This week ends up providing the perfect opportunity to pause and reflect on the year. What did I accomplish? What do I want to do the same or differently next year? What are my goals for 2018?
