5 OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN PIGEON FORGE

5 OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN PIGEON FORGE

This week’s Friday 5 are 5 of the best restaurants in Pigeon Forge. When you drive down the Parkway there are restaurants everywhere and it can be overwhelming. You can find yourself going to the same places over and over again instead of trying something new. Hopefully this will help the next time you’re trying to decide what’s for dinner! I tried to include places that were unique to Pigeon Forge and not big chains. In the process of looking through my favorites I decided to add Pigeon Forge Deli to my list of places to try. They have great reviews and they make their own bread. Score! Let me know your favorite in the comments.  Continue reading “5 OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN PIGEON FORGE”

BLOOM CAFE AND LISTENING ROOM

BLOOM CAFE AND LISTENING ROOM

Bloom is a new coffee shop and cafe in downtown Bristol that has been on my radar since Rhythm and Roots back in September. I popped in to this State Street newbie for a coffee a few weeks back but last night I was able to stay for trivia. The theme was “Stranger Things” and it was a huge success. Many patrons, much like the owner pictured below, dressed as his/her favorite character. The list of team names included “Barb’s Search Party” and “The AV Club”. The dinner special was called “The Upside Down” which consisted of bacon, gouda cheese, turkey, apples, and apple butter sandwiched between two Eggo waffles and served with a side of maple syrup. It was strange, of course, but also delicious. Eleven would definitely approve! I snapped a few pictures so you could have a look around the shop. Not shown are the gorgeous herringbone hardwood floors and the stained glass trim around the door frame. I’ll have to go back when the natural light is beaming through the windows. TRAVEL PLANS: 5 PLACES WE WILL VISIT THIS SPRING

I’m excited for the days to get longer and the temps to warm up! One of my favorite things about Spring (aside from my birthday) is that tons of flowers will be in bloom. Since I’m going a little stir crazy, I made a list of 5 places I’m going to visit this Spring. Continue reading “TRAVEL PLANS: 5 PLACES WE WILL VISIT THIS SPRING”

SUGAR MOUNTAIN SKI TRIP

SUGAR MOUNTAIN SKI TRIP

While the weather forecast predicted rain all day, we were able to enjoy our time at Sugar Mountain. The mountains blocked most of the rain so we saw mostly fog and mist which weren’t great for visibility but it didn’t ruin our day. I had a wonderful time learning to ski on blades which are shorter than traditional skis. They were less intimidating and easier to maneuver. Continue reading “SUGAR MOUNTAIN SKI TRIP”

5 THINGS TO DO WHEN SOMEONE DOESN’T LIKE YOU

5 THINGS TO DO WHEN SOMEONE DOESN’T LIKE YOU

Today I was inspired to share a little something different on the blog so please humor me. The featured photo is from the movie “Legally Blonde” after Elle gets dumped by her boyfriend Warner. Typing this all I could think about was Elle saying, “So you’re breaking up with me because you’re afraid your family won’t like me? Everybody likes me.” I’ve admitted on here before that I get anxiety quite often and one of the worst times is when someone doesn’t like me. One piece of advice I continually get is “to Hell with those people” but I don’t think that mindset is always healthy. Doing the hard work of introspection can lead to not only personal growth but stronger relationships. These are the 5 questions I ask myself when that happens because- full disclosure- it really hurts. I hope this helps other people who could be struggling with the same thing.  Continue reading “5 THINGS TO DO WHEN SOMEONE DOESN’T LIKE YOU”
