Today’s featured photo was taken at Niagara Falls in December of 2012. Niagara Falls was recently in the news because the area around the falls was covered in snow and a thick coat of ice. Have a look here. When we visited 6 years ago there was plenty of thick ice but thankfully not that amount of snow. There was a sign on the gate that said the lookout was closed to visitors but we jumped the fence. Taking the risk was completely worth it and Niagara Falls is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. Chris and I are blessed to have been on countless adventures and I can’t wait for more. The temperatures in Tennessee have been dropping down into the single digits lately and I’m reminded of our trip to Niagara Falls. I’ve been chilled to the bone and my eyes have been watering but I’m blissfully happy to spend time with Chris no matter how cold it is outside. My husband at least got me a warmer coat a few years ago. Damn Yankees and their cold weather preparedness. I say if it’s not Christmas anymore then it should be spring but no one asked me.
This edition of Friday 5 Things is as random as ever but I’m back to posting links with numbers 2 through 5. Let’s start with the giveaway winner!
Congratulations to the giveaway winner Amy Daniels! Please get in contact with me so I can send you a $100 Visa gift card! You have 24 hours to claim your prize. I am thrilled to name a recipient of my first giveaway on You, Me, and Tennessee. Last July when I started blogging I had no idea that I would have enough subscribers to hold a giveaway by 2018. Thank you guys for making that dream a reality. Writing has become one of the best parts of my day.
My sister got us tickets to Shania Twain’s concert in Nashville as an early birthday present. I can’t wait! 90’s Shania is my favorite and I am pumped for her new tour. I have a sudden impulse to buy a short skirt and sing her greatest hits. My iTunes better watch out.
I bought a pair of these sleep pants when they went on sale after Christmas then my mother-in-law bought me another pair because the gods of coziness smiled down upon me. They are without a doubt the softest sleep pants I’ve ever worn. Comfortable is an understatement. Snag a pair (or two) of these before they’re gone! You’ll thank me later.
My husband was very happy to see this calendar proudly displayed on the side of the refrigerator. We are huge Bob’s Burger fans in my family and so is everyone else apparently. This calendar has sold out in a lot of stores but I found it at the link above if you’re interested. If you haven’t seen Bob’s Burgers it comes on Fox on Sunday evenings and you can watch episodes from this season on Hulu.
Lastly, the number of movies out right now that I want to see is obscene. My list includes “The Greatest Showman”, “Pitch Perfect 3”, “Jumanji”, “The Shape of Water”, “Darkest Hour”, “Downsizing”, “Lady Bird”… You get it but I can’t believe how it’s feast or famine and right now it’s a movie lover’s smorgasbord. “The Post” comes out next Friday and I’m sure we’ll want to see that as well. Have you seen any of them yet? Let me know if any were duds or must-sees down in the comments.
Well, congrats again to Amy! I’m 100% open to doing more giveaways so let me know what kinds of giveaways you would like to see in the comments section or on the You, Me, and Tennessee Facebook page. I know a lot of bloggers who say, “I loved this product so I’m giving one away” and things like that.
Is anyone venturing out this weekend or is everyone staying snuggled up at home? I’m headed to Knoxville on Sunday for a baby shower to celebrate the impending arrival of my friend’s twin girls. Bring on the pink! Happy weekend everyone.
Until next time,
