Well I have officially put all the Christmas decorations back in the basement except the tree. That one always seems to be the hardest. I got most of my presents put away and I usually take this opportunity to reorganize everything. Anyone else? Right now my biggest task is going through our wedding photos and trying to choose my favorites to print. It’s so hard! I wanted to break the wedding photo posts up instead of doing a whole week of them. I hope that’s alright with everyone. I think I’ve looked at these a hundred times by now. Here are the ones from the ceremony. Enjoy! You can click on the photos to enlarge them.
Instead of a traditional guest book, we chose a framed photo for friends and family to sign. As people arrived to the ceremony site, they could see photos of our grandparents and family members who had passed away. It was very important for us to honor our favorite people in the world. The sign read, “We know you would be here today if Heaven wasn’t so far away.”
The ceremony went well despite the freezing rain. My wonderful husband got me a tent with a heater because he’s the best. Hopefully the guests were warm and dry waiting for the wedding party to arrive. First came the seating of the mothers and grandmothers. Then the bridesmaids were escorted by the groomsmen. Lastly, our cousin Jackson walked Joe down the aisle followed by the rest of the adorable tiny humans including two in a wagon. I only know this happened because of photos. I was hiding in a minivan that was parked inches from the tent entrance with my bouquet in front of my face. There isn’t a photo of everyone being seated or all the little kids coming down the aisle but hopefully that will all be on the video.
My favorite part of the ceremony was taking a walk with my daddy toward the man of my dreams. I looked down for a moment to make sure I wouldn’t trip then my eyes didn’t stray from Christopher. I spent hours getting my hair and makeup done because I wanted to blow him away.
Big thanks again to my Uncle Terry who chauffeured the bridesmaids and myself to the ceremony site so we wouldn’t have to walk in the rain. He also drove Chris and I around after the ceremony so we could get more pictures taken. I truly don’t know what would have happened if Uncle Terry wasn’t there. I also want to thank Flowers by Tammy in Greeneville and Star Mays from Still Hollow Century Farm for pulling a “Princess Diaries” and making me an Eden underneath that simple white tent. Thank you to all the guests who braved the cold and rain to share our day with us. Thank you to DJ Smooth (aka Baby Curt) for getting the music queued up perfectly while not actually being able to see the ceremony. Without a single drop of sarcasm I would also like to say thank you to the makers of Sudafed PE and Emetrol for manufacturing such quality products.
Stay tuned for more wedding photos including the reception and select family photos. All photos are from Sweet Snaps by Tara Hodges in Kingsport, TN.
Until next time,
Carly
