GIFT GUIDE: TENNESSEE EDITION

GIFT GUIDE: TENNESSEE EDITION

Since I named the blog “You, Me, and Tennessee” I couldn’t think of a better gift guide to share with my readers. This guide is here to help you find something special for the VFL on your Christmas list. I’ve compiled practical and “just for funzies” items that every fan needs to deck the halls in orange and white this holiday season. If the person for whom you are shopping is die-hard and doesn’t already own the checkerboard overalls then those would be my first choice. Let’s have a look at all 7 of my top picks. FRIDAY 5 THINGS

FRIDAY 5 THINGS

This has been another long week. I felt like Friday might never come but I’m excited about going to a fancy Christmas party tonight. If you want to see what I’m wearing to the party you can follow me on Instagram @carlyvbarnes and watch my Instagram stories tonight. Since I wear scrubs 5 days a week I always get pumped when I have an opportunity to put on a dress and lipstick. I attached one of our Christmas card pictures at the top of this post but will do a full post with all of them later. Baby Joe was hamming it up for Tara so choosing a favorite was tough! Like me, the Friday 5 are random but I hope you enjoy these weekly posts. Continue reading “FRIDAY 5 THINGS”

ICE SKATING DATE NIGHT

ICE SKATING DATE NIGHT

Traditions are a part of Christmas for lots of couples and Chris and I are no different. I already mentioned that we started a new tradition for our tree this year. However, one tradition that hasn’t changed is our annual ice skating date. When Chris asked me to go ice skating the first year we were together I was excited because I thought it would be like a Hallmark movie. We would glide along the ice like two lovebirds in Market Square, drink hot cocoa, and question how we ever lived apart. False. Y’all, I could not have been more wrong. Chris skates as smooth as butter melts and I look like a newborn baby deer on ice. Over the years I’ve gotten better at skating but Chris literally skates circles around me because hockey. That’s why. Really though, we end up having the best time when we go ice skating and it reminds me why I love my husband so much. Continue reading “ICE SKATING DATE NIGHT”

CHRISTMAS VACATION

CHRISTMAS VACATION

Every year around this time I wonder what it would be like to go on a big vacation at Christmas. I think it would be special to visit a new city during the season that is famous for love and good cheer. I’m sure if you were to go back to the same place any other time of year the city would leave a different impression. Christmas lights act as a sort of face lift for communities everywhere. Suddenly what was dull is sparkling and illuminated. The eye is drawn away from imperfections toward the brightest beauty. After drooling over social media posts from all over the world, here is a list of places I hope to someday spend my Christmas vacation.  Continue reading “CHRISTMAS VACATION”

No Christmas season is complete without a trip to see Santa but you have to know where to find him. As a Pigeon Forge insider, I feel obligated to share the best place to visit Santa with my amazing readers. I thought I’d begin my search at The Inn at Christmas Place. They have plenty of rooms so maybe Santa lives here. Come with me to have a look around! Continue reading “SEARCHING FOR SANTA”
