I’m sure there are a few people reading this post today and they’re surprised at the title because I hardly ever wear makeup. I like my face just fine without it and that tends to take some people by surprise. WITHOUT makeup? Yes. Naked face. Since I started blogging I decided to have more fun with it and now I’m wondering why I ever let it cause me stress. I was exhausted all the time thinking I had to wear makeup so that other people would feel more comfortable. Have you noticed how women sometimes apologize when you see them without makeup? Sure, I’ve had my moments when I feel like da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” (cue wedding photos) and other moments when I resemble Edvard Munch’s “The Scream” but I decided to think of myself as more of a Bob Ross with a palette of paint and my face as a blank canvas. Fun Fact: I narrate like him in my head while I get ready. Now that I have a newfound respect for cosmetics, let me show you 5 products that have made me feel extra glamorous when I decide to put forth effort in the matter. These products have put me in the driver’s seat when applying my makeup and I’d love for you to let me know your favorites in the comments section!

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick

This lipstick does what it says. I can eat and drink and it stays on my lips. I reapply or do touch ups throughout the day but not as severely as I have with other lipsticks I’ve tried. I gravitate toward all the matte colors stila has to offer. My current favorite shade is “Patina” for every day. I also own “Beso” but red lipstick still scares me since my lips are not bench warmers but I think I might don it for the Christmas card so be on the lookout!

L’OREAL Infallible Pro Matte Foundation

I’ve tried Kat Von D’s Lock It Tattoo foundation and I’ve tried the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. For now, I would say that this foundation is comparable and much easier on your wallet. I’d encourage y’all to give it a try the next time you’re in the drug store. You might be as surprised as I was!

Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer

I was in the market for a bronzer without glitter. Can someone please tell me why they all have glitter? It’s like putting flashing lights next to your pimples and expecting people not to notice. I finally found a matte bronzer that I love from benefit! I bought the mini size first in case I didn’t like it but next time I’ll grab the full size for sure.

L’OREAL Paris Voluminous Primer

If you try one product I suggest on today’s post then let it be this lash primer. I recently started using a serum to grow my lashes but this primer always takes my lash game to the next level. I apply a few swipes and let it dry then layer my favorite mascaras on top. Game changer. Never. Going. Back.

Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer

My eyes tend to be puffy instead of cursed with the typical dark circles. After I can get them to calm down, I use tarte’s shape tape as an under eye concealer and to do my contour. I make sure to “bake” my concealer under my eyes so it stays in place all day and I’ve been happy with the results.

What are the products you can’t live without? Maybe there’s a new product you’d like me to try for you and I can review it on the blog. Let me know! I’d love your feedback on today’s post since it’s the first one I’ve done. If you like it please share on Facebook and Pinterest.

Until next time,
