Today Joe Joe turns 3 and to celebrate I have written him a sort of love letter.
Since the day your daddy introduced us, I knew I loved you right away. You are the best Christmas present I have ever gotten! I ugly cried the second I saw your sweet face and you’ve tugged at my heart with your smile ever since. The pictures below are from the day we brought you home. I can’t believe that it has already been a year and a half since you’ve been in our lives. Here are a few of the reasons we are celebrating you today. I feel honored to be your mom.
You’re the life of the party…
But when it comes to nap time, you spoon your cuddle buddies like a teenage girl.
You let me put you in ridiculous outfits and you can’t get them off because you have tiny little T-Rex arms. Lord knows you try though! Sorry, bud.
You look as good as your daddy does in a bow tie.
You love to play in the water but you hate swimming. I can’t explain that one. That would be why your dad had to carry you like this at the lake.
You live for meeting new people. No one is a stranger. Pictured below is the first time you met cousin Colette. Instant friends!
Last but not least, you have the cutest butt and the best outlook on life of any dog I’ve met. Every day is the new greatest day of your life and heck- why shouldn’t it be?
You truly are a blessing to everyone you meet. Especially when we encounter children who are absolutely enamored by you and you stand so still while they hug your neck. I can’t wait for you to be in the wedding so you can finally be legitimate and we can have the same last name! Looking back on my awkward preteen years I never thought my life would be so spicy. I’m living with a man before we’re married and we have a love child! I’m usually so vanilla!
Happy birthday, sweet boy. I can’t wait to see you be a big brother one day.
Until next time,
